Preparation for exams: how to help a child cope with stress?

From a young age, a child begins to learn the world and learn to live in it. In this respect, it can be safely asserted that curiosity is the main engine of progress. Parents are accustomed to the eternal curiosity of little people: why the sky is blue, why it rains, why do people see dreams?

All this is normal and indicates a regular development of the child. Boys and girls ask a thousand questions and certainly want to get exhaustive answers. But as soon as the child begins to study at school, parents mark a new trend. Girls do not lose interest in knowledge, diligently study and appreciate their own academic performance.

At the same time, boys suddenly find themselves attracted to much more burning questions: what kind of bird sat on the fence, or what would happen if you throw a stone at the window? What is the evidence of this pattern? Let’s try to understand.

The difference in the development of the hemispheres is not so important in itself. Much more important is the fact that girls have a better corpus callosum, which is 20% more than in boys. And this body, which is a branchy bundle of nerves, connects the hemispheres of the brain.

Simply put, the female brain works in a more harmonious mode from early years – the hemisphere actively “contacts” with each other. By the way, this explains why women are able to keep several ideas in mind (and a couple of dozen thoughts) simultaneously and, most importantly, it practically does not affect their concentration. But boys (and men) are able to fully concentrate on only one idea or subject. If they digress from the topic, it will be much more difficult to return to it.

In addition, curious scientists have found that when solving a specific problem, women are activated different areas of the brain. In men, as a rule, the maximum involved is one.

The conclusions are obvious: it is much easier for girls to grasp new information and immediately begin to process and use it. Add to this greater perseverance, a love of reading and diligence - and you will understand why girls are better at learning and, on average, get higher grades.
